Top Six - March 8

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have shopping to go and do later. So there.
6 Taxpayers Alliance Clone Wrong On EU Law Business For Britain, which claims to be “non-partisan” and has the same address as the TPA, claimed that 64.7% of our laws came from the EU. And here’s why they’re wrong.
5 Newton Dunn Wrong - Tub Of Lard Next The Sun’s non-bullying political editor suggested that ITV might go it alone with a seven way TV Debate which would comply with Young Dave’s wishes. He got that one wrong: not only were the broadcasters not for budging, they were prepared to empty chair the PM.
4 Fox News Admits Its Host Lied It got worse for Bill O’Reilly, top rating host at Fox News Channel (fair and balanced my arse) after his own employers admitted he had lied. In fact, he had even “embellished” his career right back to high school football.
3 BBC Foxes Fleet Street Fox As the Beeb News At Ten reported on phone hacking at the Mirror titles, their report displayed a headline for an article which had Susie Boniface, aka Fleet Street Fox, on the byline. She knew nothing. Allegedly.
2 Did Press Misuse Steven Nott’s Story? When Steven Nott found a Vodafone security flaw which the company apparently ignored, he took his story to the papers. The red-tops were enthusiastic, then silent, then shooed him off. Coincidentally, at around the same time, those same papers started hacking phones. By exploiting the same security flaw.
1 Guido Fawked - Chuka Rail Fail The perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his rabble at the Guido Fawkes blog went after Chuka Umunna (again) by claiming his complaints about rail operator Southern were “not a good look” as the delays were a result of a death on the line. They weren’t - it was a false alarm. Then they tried to revise the post to cover their mistakes. But I took a screen shot. Another fine mess.
And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
