Top Six – June 17

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, you know what you’re getting that way. So there.

6 Guido Fawked – Telling Porkies On Morgan Newsweek magazine revisited the Viglen share dealing affair and the awkwardness it caused to the appalling Piers “Morgan” Moron, but nothing new or significant was revealed. This was not enough for the perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his tame gofer, the flannelled fool Henry Cole, at the Guido Fawkes blog, who pretended that Newsweek had got hold of Police interview notes. This was a whopper, but surprised nobody.

5 Guido Fawked – Brown Makeup Time The Laurel and Hardy of the blogosphere were so dismayed to learn that the evidence supporting Pa Broon’s “war” phone call to Rupert Murdoch was not to their liking that they dismissed it all, then invented a “reliable Westminster watcher” to stand up their story. Another fine mess.

4 Guido Fawked – Very Draughty Glasshouse Three in a row for the less than dynamic duo as they are caught in the act of demonstrating their facility for routine hypocrisy. The Fawkes blog accused Pa Broon of being a “liar”, something that Staines and Cole know all about, having done plenty of it themselves.

3 Reverse That Spin Machine! The saga of the “war” phone call brought even worse news for Rupe’s troops and their cheerleaders as the Cabinet Office suggested it never actually happened. Unintentional hilarity ensued as the Guido Fawkes blog was joined by Sun political editor Tom Newton Dunn as they played out the mystical game “Six ‘what-if’ scenarios in search of a spreadsheet”.

2 HS2 – Gilligan Is Still A Disgrace The celebrated purveyor of dodgy journalism brought news of a secret report about HS2, but to no surprise at all, the report was not secret, and it wasn’t about HS2.

1 Tabloid Troll Gets Creative Not content with being unmasked and exposed as a laughing stock, former hack Dennis Rice accused Tim Ireland of Bloggerheads fame of being more than one Twitter presence, then claimed his own account had multiple contributors. Here’s why he was making it all up.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
